Flamingo Bay
Flamingo Bay Water Lodge can be found in the pure tidal bay of Inhambane Bay. The lodge is situated on the stilts on the translucent waters of the Indian Ocean. The warm Indian Ocean of Barra offers safe swimming all year round and endless wide open beaches that offer hours of strolling enjoyment. The bay is called home by the following creatures:
•flocks of flamingos
•tropical fish
•the very rare dugong
The lodge can be found on a beautiful tidal estuary and not on the open sea as many people believe. The scenery at the lodge creates for an interesting environment with fish following the tide as it moves in and out as well as the birds; crabs and other estuarine creatures and moving with the daily changes.
At the back of the lodge, you can take a short walk down to the open ocean. While staying at Flamingo Bay, you have complimentary vehicle transfers throughout the day to Barra Lodge in order to enjoy the facilities right on the main beach as well as all the activities that Barra Lodge offers.
The luxury Water Chalets are spacious and well selected with a balcony, air-conditioning and wide opening sliding doors. The chalets and its furniture are constructed from beautiful local hardwoods. The following can be enjoyed directly from your chalet:

•Boating
The main building and chalets are connected by wooden walkways. Golf carts are available to ferry guests. The main building is fronted by the tidal waters of the bay and can also be accessed from land. Flamingo Bay has a secure parking for your vehicle.
In the main building you will find the Restaurant that overlooks Barra’s estuary and offer delicious meals with what seafood was caught locally and is served fresh. We have fresh prawns, crab and calamari on a regular basis. There are meat or a chicken dish for the non-seafood lovers.
